2012 Mayans Prophecy – The Mayan Doomsday Prophecy

End of the world prophecy or new beginnings?

As we move ever nearer the date 21st December 2012 should we become increasingly concerned that the end of the world is nearing or some major global happening will alter life on earth for ever?

The ancient Mayan civilisation has a calendar that has stretched from 13th August 3114 BCE (near the start of old Egyptian Kingdom), this calendar end at Mayan Date 13.0.0.0.0 a date roughly around the 21st December 2012. This date is when the Maya Long Count calendar comes to the end of a 5,126 year cycle. The exact date is debated, as is what will happen when we hit that date. There is no record telling us exactly what the ancient Maya expected to happen when this cycle ended and the next began, but this is the source of the 2012 Mayans Prophecy.

Does Mayan calendar end mean the end of the earth, some form of global destruction or just some form of new era?

This is where the source of all speculation around the impact of 21st December 2012 originates from.

Many ancient prophecies seem to suggest the significance of the date or period in time.

The Hopis and Mayans both recognize that we are approaching the end of a World Age.

The Hopi and Mayan elders do not say the world will end. Rather, this is a time of transition from one World Age into another.

The Hopi prophecy 2012 has a series of final warning before the great purification by fire, is this a fire that will destroy the earth, or firing of new inspiration.

Nostradamus predicts a natural catastrophe in December 2012, predicting “great reign of terror from the skies will fall on the 12th month of the year 2012, bring with it floods and meteoroids, the waves being the height of mount Olympus (10,000). A wave this size would flood the entire earth. Yet NASA says there are no threatening asteroids likely to hit the earth in this timeframe.

The Ch’ing, an ancient Chinese book of divination, has been interrupted by Terence Mckenna to suggest that a new world era will occur around the time of the next galactic alignment, the date 21st December 2012.

There is much speculation about the existence of Nibiru, known as The Red Planet or Planet X, thought to be the 12th Planet of our solar system, on a trajectory to hit earth. These claims are strongly denied by NASA, but internet speculation has much on conspiracy theories around this subject.

St. Malachy an Irish Priest predicts via a vision, that there would be 112 more Popes. Listing all and achieving a spooky correlation to actual names. There have been 111 Popes since this prediction.

So many prophecies seem to point to the same thing an end in 2012, but an end of what? Could this be doomsday?

2012 World End – Skeptic Has A Change Of Heart

It sounds like something out of a Hollywood movie: On a certain day in a certain year at a certain time the world is going to end, or at least change in a fairly significant way, and the catastrophic event was prophesied by ancient civilizations that drew future stories on damp cave walls. From the producers who brought you Men in Black comes 2012: World End, starring 2 tired A-listers and a pretty ingenue.

Though that would certainly be one half of this story, this doomsday-to-come, that it’s something to be laughed at and droned on about on conspiracy blogs, the flipside to the world ending in 2012 is that, if we’re not quite so literal, and we sprinkle the situation with a bit of cold, hard science, then we have indications that something, some thing or event may take place in the near future that changes all of our lives.

A few months ago, mention of solar flares or holes in magnetic shields had as much effect on me as watered-down scotch. But that was before I read some fascinating books and articles on the subject. Did you know NASA scientists have reported the possibility of a solar flare reaching our planet’s weakened magnetic shield and wiping out all power grids? What if in an instant – woosh – all power is gone? There is absolutely no power of any kind? No phones or faxes or computers or TVs or coffee makers or cash registers or refrigerators or air conditioners or space heaters, hospital equipment… you get the idea.

We’ve recently seen such horror strike Haiti, and witnessed mass destruction and no real infrastructure to govern and oversee the rescue efforts. But there are other nations who can step in and help. Now imagine a world where we are all Haiti. No governments or real resources, no way to run and rule the people, possibly for months. Who will take charge and govern us all? Is it possible we could govern ourselves?

Being a glass-is-half-who-cares kind of a person, I would put my money against the human race in 2012. Sure we can all come together when there’s an earthquake or another disease holds a telethon, but no doubt 2012 will turn into an international remake of Lord of the Flies. Maybe I’m wrong. Maybe this galactic horror that has been predicted by brilliant people in loin cloths is our opportunity to shine. Maybe this is our one shot at getting it right? Maybe if we all pull together i

n our common struggle to stay alive, we could reach a joint nirvana and finally progress into the next enlightened phase of human evolution? Yeah. That would be awesome.

But to be on the safe side, I’m gonna stock up on water and tazers.

In one type or another, all religions and philosophies have taught about the ultimate destiny of man, society, and the cosmos as they do about the first things or origins. Many are bibical. The one receiving attention lately is the Mayan Long Count Calendar. It works out the date of creation as Aug 11,3114 B.C. The calendar is 5,125 years old ending on December 21,2012.

This date has caused various people to decide that the year 2012 is the end of the planet in prediction. Presumably the Mayas received their astronomical calculations from “Kulcan”. Kulcan was described as a white man with a beard from beyond the ocean. Some of the people believe the Maya were predicting the end of a cycle and the start of a new cycle.

The Hopi, a native american tribe that lives in Arizona accept that the world has stopped many times. They suspect we are approaching the newest “End” and “Beginning” which is to come.

Here are the 2012 prophecies: a collision with the earth from a large object from space. It might be Nibiru or Planet X. If Nibiru moves through our solar system the gravitational pull might cause the polar ice caps to slide significantly. This event would cause large changes on the earth. Where there was water, the surface could end up dry and other areas of land could be flooded. Many scholars think the shifting of the polar ice cap would be slow,taking a long period of time.

The reversal of the north and south poles are claimed to lead to quakes, tsunamis, and volcanoes. The north and south poles can’t change position only the magnetic poles which typically take thousands of years.

A Gamma-ray burst from a distant supernova that would destroy the world .

A worldwide nuclear war destroying the earth.

Massive extinctions due to natural phenomenon.

A flare-up of the sun causing catastrophes, planetary harm, weakened magnetic poles and too much radiation.

The cosmic alignment of the Milky Way universe with the sun and earth causing an unknown event to occur.

These are merely a sample of 2012 predictions that are out there.

Ever since then there have been different prophecies about the end of the globe. It does not particular mention that skeptic folks are abundant in number. Although a lot of Mayan predictions have turned out to be true, some skeptic folk have cited many logical inconsistencies as far as 2012 outlook is concerned . Their disagreements include an easy thing like that Mayan scholars might have not found enough time to bring out a new calendar due to end of Mayan culture. Another discussion is that the set periods of Mayan calendar covered a period more than a modern year of 12 months and it’d have 2012 as the last year. Their opinion is that ending of Mayan calendar in 2012 is of no importance.

As with many predictions, there are disagreements for and against each aspect. The only way to be sure of the end result, sadly , is to attend it out until 2012.
