2012 and the End of the World

According to some 2012 marks the end of the world. The Mayan calendar appears to end on December 21, 2012. Some of the prophecies of the famous seer Nostradamus also point to the end of the world in 2012. Lastly, some of the biblical prophecies can also be imterpreted to as to mean that the apocalypse is just around the corner. With all of that it would seem that the end of the world is nigh, and that it is time to repent. Of course, prophecies being prophecies some exploration of them is required.

Although a number of different sources have promised the end of the world before, the interest is that some of the major sources of prophecy are coming together. Although some have argued that the calendar will restart, the calendar’s running out is said to at the very least bring about major changes for mankind, either an age of light or the destruction of mankind.

As the Mayan calendar has been shown to be reasonably accurate in the past, its prediction of a new age is taken rather seriously.

Although extremely cryptic the 2012 Nostradamus prophecies have become the atrget of renewed interest. Those who have read his works have been attempting to apply his writings to 2012. The problem is that his works are so up to interpretation that they are up to a lot of debate. Although Nostradamus does have a decent track record, that record only applies to those that believes in their veracity. How Nostradamus has been taken is an interesting study in belief; although there is some reason to take him seriously, as he has been shown to be accurate, that accuracy is up to some debate due to how cryptic his writings are.

Acting as a link between the Mayan calendar and the works of Nostradamus, the Bible was also received renewed vigor as a source of what may be happening in 2012. As far as its 2012 Apocalypse Bible readers have noted that it is possible that the Apocalypse has either arrived or will shortly. Because it seems that a number of other prophecies regarding the end of days may be coming true, and that the Bible is the most detailed of them, various scholars have attempted to link them other works as a way as to obtaining some kind of certainty from all related works. Because of this believers have been able to work out a reasonable timeline of what will happen starting in 2012.

What Will Really Happen End Of Year 2012?

One of two things is sure to happen at the end of 2012: Either the world will end or it will not. Regardless of what happens, a lot of people are looking to figure out how to survive 2012. Stocking up is definitely advised, both in terms of food as well as some form of defense, such as guns and the requisite ammunition or melee weapons like clubs and martial arts weapons. Having emergency supplies and a home generator are also advised. Year 2012 End Of The World? No One Knows For Sure!

As one can see, it is all a matter of interpretation. Nostradamus’ prophecies have been notoriously sketchy; the problem with having written his prophecies in a poetic code makes them unreliable unless backed by other signs. Although the biblical prophecies would seem to back up Nostradamus, they are unfortinately just as unreliable. Nonetheless, the Mayan calendar does seem to point out that something important may be on the horizon, making others take interest in what maybe happening.

December 21 2012 will be an interesting date to see what happens; regarldess of what happens, it is a date that will be important on many calendars.
